Funeral services for Melvin Philly Bolls will be Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 6320 Bovina Cut Off Road. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, from 1-7 p.m. at C J Williams Mortuary services, with family present from 6-7 p.m.

Melvin died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at his home surrounded by love ones. He was 84.

Melvin served in the US Military and after being honorably discharged, he returned to Vicksburg and became gainfully employed as a truck driver. After 30 years of service, he retired. Melvin was a faithful member of the New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and treasurer for 40 years.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories two daughters, Mary (Herbert) Fortier of North Riverside, Illinois, Marva Bolls of Wylie, Texas; three sons, Melvin Bolls of Vicksburg, Marvin Bolls of Madison, Mark (Kathy) Bolls of Canton, Georgia, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three brothers, Dr. Sonny (Lela) Bolls of Bolton, Robert (Carrie) Bolls, Lawrence Bolls, both of Vicksburg, a host of other family members and friends.
