Jane McDonald Lindsey

Jane McDonald Lindsey died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at her home in Vicksburg, after a lengthy illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Lindsey was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Rankin County to the late Sam Jones McDonald and Grace Barlow McDonald. She was a graduate of Terry High School in Terry, and Mississippi College. She was employed as a social worker by the Mississippi Department of Human Services and retired as regional supervisor of the Mississippi Division of Medicaid after 27 years of service with the state.
Mrs. Lindsey was a member of the Acacia Chapter 56 Order of the Eastern Star, Hyland Chapter 147 Order of the Eastern Star, and Hawkins United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren, always helping others in her community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Lindsey; a daughter, Patricia Lindsey Ledford; and her siblings, Ethel A. McDonald, L.A. McDonald, Mary Frances McDonald Dean, Joe A. McDonald, Irl McDonald, Douglas McDonald, Belle McDonald Alexander, Wren McDonald and Sammy McDonald.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Lindsey Lamensdorf (Mike); her grandchildren, Patricia Lindsey Lamensdorf, Lauren Elizabeth Lamensdorf and Benjamin Gaines Lamensdorf; a brother, Karie McDonald, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brooks Alexander, John Alexander, Jason Alexander, Mark McDonald, Kari McDonald Jr. and Chuck Janes.
