John Clare Hendricks

John Clare Hendricks was born Nov. 29, 1942, to Gustave and Margaret Hendricks in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He passed away on Dec. 27, 2018, at his home in Delta, Louisiana, at the age of 76 from congestive heart failure.
John is survived by his wife Kathy Hendricks, son Freddy Hendricks, daughters Tammy Abernathy and husband Charles Abernathy, Mary Davis, Debby Moses and husband Scott Moses, and grandchildren Johnathan Hendricks, Stacy Houston, Kara Hendricks, Kameron Wicker, Mia Hendricks, Kendall Moses, and Jude Hendricks.
His parents and brother Bill Hendricks preceded him in death.
After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force. After serving in the military, he attended Edison Community College in Ft Myers, Florida, where he graduated with an associate’s degree in computer operations.
He and his wife moved to Vicksburg from Florida in 1971 where he began his career as a computer operator and eventually a computer programmer with The Corps of Engineers. He retired in 1998.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate John’s life on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at 12 p.m. for visitation, with services to begin at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
Pallbearers will be Kameron Wicker, Johnathan Hendricks, Gene Miles, Vernon Beckham, Stony Moses and Reuben Wicker.
