Funeral services for Freddie J. Rader are to be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. in the Vicksburg City Auditorium with the Rev. Michael Wesley officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, Jan. 12 in the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.

Freddie J. Rader passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 71. He had worked at Walmart and had attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie George and Theresa Tovan Rader; his brother, Randolph Rader and sister, Lidia Rader.

He is survived by his wife, Lizzie Ross Rader of Vicksburg; his seven sons, Freddie Lee Rader, Michael Leon Rader, David J. Rader, Patrick O’Neal Rader, Adam Rader, Joseph Rader, Wesley Rader and Christopher Rader, all of Vicksburg; his six daughters, Theresa Williams, Lula Rader, Debra Watson, Carolyn Rader, Sissy Rader and Terrie Rader, all of Vicksburg; his brothers, David Rader and Jackson Rader; his sisters, Marie Jones, Paula Davenport Ross, Margaret Slaughter and Juanita Hollins, all of Vicksburg; 46 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
