2 shooting suspects arrested in 2 cases

A Vicksburg man faces six counts of attempted aggravated assault after he reportedly fired into a home occupied by six people early Thursday morning.
Vicksburg police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Jeffrey Kyle McGuffie, 31, 1007 Polk St., is accused of firing several shots into a home in the 1000 block of Avenue D about 2:56 a.m. Thursday and leaving the area. No one in the home was injured, Edwards said, adding police recovered a 9mm handgun.
He said McGuffie was arrested at his home and was being held without bond in the Issaquena County Corrections Facility pending an initial appearance Friday in Vicksburg Municipal Court.
In another case, Kevin Dewayne Buck, 33, 2630 Roosevelt Ave., is charged with aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of firearm in the New Year’s Eve shooting of a 17-year-old juvenile.
Buck, who was arrested Wednesday, was released from the Warren County Jail on a $35,000 bond. His arrest was the result of a tip to Crime Stoppers.
The teen was shot in the back about 11:28 p.m. Dec. 31 and taken to University of Missisisppi Medical Center.
In other cases:
• Moses Ellis, 23, 301 Greenbriar St. was charged with possession of a stolen firearm after officers found a Jimenez .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun tucked in his right shoe during a traffic stop in the 4100 block of Washington Street.
Ellis was a passenger in the car.
• Devonte King, 22, 100 Kings Drive, was arrested at his home on U.S. District Court warrants charging him with giving false information on a firearm form from a licensed firearms dealer and making false statements to Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents about buying the gun.
He also had an outstanding city warrant for felony domestic violence.
• Kelsey Elizabeth Taylor, 29, 119 Short Sherman Ave., faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine after officers found a syringe of the drug Wednesday while investigating a call about a suspicious person in the Walmart parking lot.
• Dzackary Deangelo Ramone Williams St., 26, 1415 Hayes St., was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging him with felony domestic violence.
• A tan Glock Model 19 9mm handgun was reported missing from a home in the 1900 block of Olive Street.
