A Brandon man was killed when his Camaro left the highway and struck a tree off Interstate 20 eastbound just east of the Mississippi River bridge.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said Kenneth Yount, 68, of Brandon was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, which occurred about 9:18 p.m. Sunday.

A passenger in the car was injured and flown by helicopter to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He has not been identified.

The wreck occurred between the exit off the bridge and the eastbound U.S. 61 South exit.
