OXFORD —Tyler Keenan went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, Anthony Servideo was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Ole Miss ripped Little Rock 11-8 in a midweek baseball game Tuesday.
Grae Kessinger also had two hits, including a double, and scored three runs as the Rebels (9-2) won their sixth game in a row.
Max Cioffi allowed five hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings of relief, but did not allow a run and struck out seven batters. Cioffi (2-0) was credited with the win.
A pair of two-run singles by Servideo and Keenan keyed a five-run rally in the second inning that gave Ole Miss a 6-0 lead.
Servideo also doubled and scored on a ground out by Keenan in the first inning. Keenan later added an RBI double during a four-run rally in the seventh that gave the Rebels an 11-4 lead.
Little Rock scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to make things interesting. Josh Nowak drove in two runs with a two-out triple, but was stranded there when Riley Pittman grounded out to end the game.
Mississippi State 4, East Carolina 1
Six pitchers combined on a four-hitter, Elijah MacNamee drove in two runs, and Mississippi State won its seventh consecutive baseball game by beating East Carolina 4-1 on Tuesday.
Keegan James started and pitched the first two innings for the Bulldogs (11-1) to earn the victory. He allowed one hit, no runs or walks, and struck out two. Peyton Plumlee allowed one run in three innings, and four other relievers threw one scoreless inning apiece. The Bulldogs’ pitching staff combined for 14 strikeouts.
Cole Gordon, the last of the pitchers, had four strikeouts in the ninth inning — one batter struck out but reached on a wild pitch — for his fourth save.
MacNamee hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning and an RBI single in the seventh.
Jordan Westburg also had three hits, including a double, walked and scored a run for the Bulldogs.
