Funeral services for Bennie R. Neal Sr., are to be held on Saturday, March 16, in the Mount Zion #1 M. B. Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Johnnie Williams officiating; interment shall follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. There will be a visitation held on Friday, March 15, in the funeral home from 5-7 p.m.

Bennie R. Neal Sr., passed away on Friday, March 8, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was 84. 

He had worked at Waterways Experiment Station and Warren Yazoo Mental Health Clinic. He was a member of the Locust Grove M. B. Church where he was vice president of the usher board and had been a member of the Big Bucks Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Collie Jerry and Adlene Russell Neal Sr.; his wife, Margaret Ree Brown Neal; his brothers, Jerry Neal, Fred Neal, Joe Neal and Mid Mack Neal.

He is survived by his son, Bennie R. Neal Jr., of Red Oak, Texas; his two daughters, Linda Neal of Vicksburg, and Connie Russell of Converse, Texas; his sister, Virgie Neal Moore of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
