Betty Jo Heath, 71, of Vicksburg, passed Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

Betty was born to Robert “Red” Booze and Mildred Heath, on Dec. 13, 1947, in Vicksburg. She attended Catholic School in Greenwood, and received a degree from Hinds Community College.   

She leaves as her legacy four children: Laha Heath-Berry, Yolanda Flowers-Meredith (Gerald), Willie P. Flowers III, and Dr. Tonya Heath-Drake (Leandrew). She also leaves to cherish her memory five grandchildren: Kayla Meredith, Jahi Flowers, Joshua Flowers, Jalen Flowers, Leandrew Trey Drake III, and Landyn Drake; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Heath and Robert “Red” Booze, and her siblings, Darnell Davis Sr., Charles Heath, Robert “Bobby” Heath, Dorothy Davis and Gwendolyn Moore Algora.

Betty was in the nursing profession for over 30 years, a licensed cosmetologist and barber, and a business owner until she retired. 

Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2019, at CJ Williams Mortuary Services from 1- 7 p.m., and The Rosary will be from 6-7 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection is scheduled for March 23, 2019, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A reception will follow at St. Mary’s Center. Father Joseph Nguyen, S.V.D. will officiate the ceremony.
