St. Al tennis rolls past Central Hinds

St. Aloysius’ tennis team continued its dominance in MAIS District 3-AAA by beating Central Hinds 8-1 on Friday.
The Flashes finished their fourth consecutive undefeated regular season inside the district. They’ll host the district tournament Wednesday at 8 a.m. at Halls Ferry Park, as well as the Class AAA South State tournament on May and the Class AAA state tournament on May 8.
St. Al did not drop a set in their eight wins against Central Hinds on Friday.
Chris Albert and Braxton Chewning won in boys singles, while Elise Piazza and Natlaie Jones lost one game in four sets between them in girls singles.
Miles Harris and Adam Eckstein beat Gabe Carr and Nick Lauderdale 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 boys doubles, and Parker Brown and Carson Collier took the point in the No. 2 position.
St. Al’s other two points came in girls’ doubles, where the teams of Ashley Jarratt and Taylor Chewning and Logan Young and Ali Blackburn both won 6-0, 6-0.
