Claude E. Ferguson III of Flora passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at St. Dominic’s Medical Center. He was 64.

He was the son of Claude E. Ferguson, Jr. and Vivian Butts Ferguson of Vicksburg.

Claude was a 1972 graduate of Warren Central High School, and at age 50 he graduated with honors from  the Belhaven University Aspire Program.

He was married to Patti Roberts for 33 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson. Claude was employed in the nuclear power industry for many years and retired from Unicorp after 20 years of service.  Claude was presently employed with Provias Construction Company in Ridgeland.

Claude never met a stranger and had a true heart for giving. Known by his family as “the best gift giver ever,” he loved deeply.

That was apparent in the way he took care of Patti and “his girls,” Bella and Cissi. They were his pride and joy as were his immaculate yard, love for woodworking and love for Ole Miss.  His joking nature and wit hid a deep layer of love for all those who were blessed to call him a friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Sue Newlin.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Roberts Ferguson; two sisters, Carolyn Ferguson and Frances Ferguson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Chapter Alzheimer’s Association, 207 West Jackson St. #1, Ridgeland, MS, 39157, a charity close to Claude’s heart due to family members affected by this disease.
