The Mississippi Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks has laid out the proposed dates for white-tailed deer season in the South Delta region.
During their meeting Wednesday, the commissioned outlined a season that would begin Oct. 15 and continue through Jan. 5. Bag limits would be two anterless deer and two bucks.
“During spring and summer 2019, extensive flooding occurred in the South Delta region,” the commission said in a Thursday release. “Data collection, including hunter observation and harvest data, will be imperative over the next 2–3 years to properly assess the full impacts of the prolonged flooding.”
The South Delta Zone is all Mississippi lands south of Bunge Road, south of Highway 14, west of Highway 149, west of Highway 3, west of Highway 61 from Highway 4 to Business 61 and to Interstate 20, and east of the state line.
