Crime report: Police issue warrant for suspected shooter

A warrant has been issued for a 17-year-old Vicksburg teen wanted in the Friday night shooting of a man on Speed Street.
Vicksburg Police Lt. Johnny Edwards said the warrant charges Isaiah Smith, 210 Meadowvale Ave., with aggravated assault in shooting. He is accused of shooting Desmond Taylor, 28, in the leg during an argument at a house in the 800 block of Speed Street.
According to reports, witnesses said Smith pulled up to the house in a gold 2011 Nissan Altima. He entered the Speed Street house and argued with Taylor before shooting him.
Taylor was taken by ambulance to Merit Health River Region, where he was last listed in stable condition.
Smith, who is out on bond for a July 2018 shooting is considered armed and dangerous.

In other cases:
• No one was injured in a drive-by shooting that occurred about 9:58 p.m. in the 200 block of Starlight Drive Monday. The back window of a 2003 Honda Civic was damaged by gunshots, three bullets were found in the front door and one near a bedroom window.
• Thomas Horton, 35, 233 Lealand Drive, is charged with aggravated assault domestic violence. He was released on $60,000 bond.
• Jeremiah Henry Rose, 24, 113 Galtney St., was charged with drive-by shooting involving a May shooting. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $100,000. Rose was arrested in Oklahoma and returned to Vicksburg.
• Marley Glenn Kirksey, 35, 102 Tiffany Drive, was charged with taking of a motor vehicle. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
• Tyler Giovannie Jones, 20, 108 Quinola Lane, was charged with sexual battery. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
• Nine catalytic converters with a total value of more than $7,000 were reported taken about 8:14 a.m. Monday from cars at Staut’s Automotive, 3660 U.S. 61 South.
• Debit and credit cards, an iPad, cameras and $750 were reported taken about 8:11 a.m. from a car parked on Klein Street.
• Four cars were reported missing about 9:48 a.m. from Cannon Toyota, 2407 North Frontage Road after an inventory.
