Two Vicksburg teenagers are being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of bonds of $850,000 each accused in the Wednesday shooting of a man at the Days Inn, 90 Warrenton Road.
Municipal Judge Angela Carpenter set the bonds for Titan Moore, 18, and Kevon Moore, 19 at an initial appearance Friday in Vicksburg Municipal Court. The teens, who police said are not related, are each charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a stolen firearm. They are accused of shooting Moses Ellis, 23, also of Vicksburg, in the neck at the hotel.
A juvenile who was with the two teens when they were taken into custody was not charged.
Ellis was taken by ambulance to Merit Health River Region and then flown by AirCare helicopter to University of Mississippi Medical Center. Information on his condition was unavailable.
According to police department reports, witnesses provided the description of a vehicle that fled the scene. The vehicle was later spotted by officers and stopped at the intersection of Washington Street and Morgan Lane.
Three individuals in the vehicle were detained for questioning by investigators.
During the traffic stop, officers discovered a 9mm handgun that was in plain view inside the car. Authorities believe the handgun was the one used in the shooting.
