A Vicksburg teen has been charged in a shooting that occurred during a Sept. 22 fight on North Frontage Road.
Jadaruice Devoils, 19, 3970 North Washington St., is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm stemming from the fight, which occurred near the Waffle House on North Frontage Road.
He was arrested Tuesday and is being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond. The case was bound over to the next Warren County grand jury.
Two people, Shemar Keyon Anderson, 18, and Ladelle Devoils, 19, were wounded in the 2:30 a.m. fight, which occurred between the Ivy Place and Vicksburg Ford. Police said the fight involved several people, adding more than 20 shell casings from different caliber firearms were recovered at the scene.
Anderson and Devoils were initially taken to the Merit Health River Region West Campus, 1111 North Frontage Road, which has no emergency room and then transferred to Merit Health River Region.
Anderson was later flown by air ambulance to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, while Devoils remained at River Region.
• In another case, Jalen Williams, 23, 4824 Gibson Road, turned himself in to Vicksburg Police Wednesday on a warrant for possession of marijuana with Intent. He is being held without bail in the Madison County Jail pending an initial appearance Thursday in Vicksburg Municipal Court.
The marijuana was found when police and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force looking for a fugitive executed a warrant on an apartment at 2508 Ken Karyl Ave.
Adrian Dale Smith Jr. 23, who police said lives at the apartment, was later arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
