Adult basketball league
Registration for the Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Department’s men’s and women’s adult basketball leagues will begin on Nov. 18 and continue through Dec. 31. The registration fees are $125 per team, plus $5 for each non-city resident, with the total not to exceed $175. Registration packets can be picked up at the Parks And Rec office at 100 Army Navy Drive or the Jackson Street Community Center.

VWAA baseball registraiton
The Vicksburg Warren Athletic Association has opened registration for its 2020 spring youth baseball season. All games will be played at Sports Force Parks on the Mississippi. Online registration is available at vwaabaseball.org. The registration fee is $75 per player, but coaches are eligible for a $25 discount for their child.

Buzz Softball tryouts
Tryouts for the BUZZ Softball Organization, a Vicksburg-based fast-pitch tournament team, are scheduled for Nov. 19-21 at the Betty Hearn Softball Complex’s East Field. The teams are coached by Porter’s Chapel Academy coach Chandler Ellis and Vicksburg High coach Brian Ellis.

Tryouts for the 14U age group will be at 5:30 p.m. each day. Tryouts for the 16U and 18U teams will be at 6:45 p.m. each day. Players should wear softball pants and be prepared for colder weather, and arrive 15 minutes before tryouts begin.

USM baseball camp
The Southern Miss baseball program will host its Thanksgiving Break Kids Camp Nov. 25 and 26 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field in Hattiesburg. The camp is for children in grades K-8 and will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Registration is set for 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 25.
The camp will teach baseball fundamentals and allow boys and girls to work with Southern Miss players and coaches. The cost is $100.

Winter Baseball League
Sports Force Parks on the Mississippi will host its inaugural Winter Baseball League Nov. 30 to Dec. 22. The league is open to players ages 7 to high school, and is for individual players and not teams. The cost is $300 per player and there is a nine-game guarantee. No tryouts are necessary, but players should provide their own equipment.
