The Mississippi State Department of Health Tuesday announced 177 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,915 It also announced the number of virus-related deaths had grown to 59.

In Warren County, the number of confirmed cases increased to seven. That number is an increase of two from Monday and is expected to rise in the coming days as more testing is done locally, and results from the state’s one-day test site at Pemberton Square Mall last Tuesday become available. Officials confirmed 75 tests were conducted at that site.

The statewide shelter-in-place order issued Wednesday by Gov. Tate Reeves went into effect Friday at 5 p.m. Also going into effect at 5 p.m. was a series of additional restrictions announced Thursday by Vicksburg and Warren County officials.

The local orders, which include additional restrictions on businesses and closures, including the county-controlled Clear Creek Golf Course, also include a city-wide juvenile curfew that lasts from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. each day. This is in addition to another city-wide curfew, for all other residents, that goes from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.
