Warren County sees another jump in confirmed COVID-19 cases

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Warren County grew to 32, as three more confirmed cases were reported Thursday.
The three new cases come one day after the county saw the largest number of new cases confirmed when officials with the Mississippi State Department of Health reported four new cases on Wednesday.
Overall, the number of cases statewide grew to 5,153, with eight new virus-related deaths reported. The number of deaths in the state tied to the virus now stands at 201.
The number of virus-related deaths in Warren County remains at two.
The number of cases in Claiborne County is now 12. Wednesday, officials with the state and the University of Mississippi Medical Center conducted a one-day test event in Port Gibson. The results of those tests should be reported in 7-to-10 days.
Hinds County reported Thursday 383 confirmed cases with six virus-related deaths.
Issaquena remains the only county in Mississippi to not yet report a confirmed case. Sharkey County now has four confirmed cases.
Yazoo County as of Thursday had 110 cases and one virus-related death.
