The Warren County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to extend the county’s shelter-in-place order through May 18.
The order continues to restrict some businesses and enforces restrictions on the size of gatherings and the number of customers allowed to gather in parking lots of businesses. It also keeps salons, bars and lounges closed within the county.
The order is part of the county’s ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Warren County. As of Sunday, there were 81 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Warren County.
Supervisors did say that their order mirrors the current state orders and if anything changes at the state level then supervisors would reconvene to amend their order.
“If something changes, then we will respond,” Board of Supervisors President Dr. Jeff Holland said.
In extending their order, supervisors also decided to keep the public boat ramp in the Eagle Lake community closed to the public.
This marks the second extension of the shelter-in-place order that originally went into effect Friday, April 2.
