Additional COVID-19 cases reported in Warren County

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Warren County continues to grow. Wednesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health announced nine additional cases in the county overnight.
The new cases not only pushed the number of cases reported during the pandemic to 232 but pushed the estimated active cases to 62, their highest level since May 12.
The report of nine cases matches the nine reported Tuesday and is now tied for the third-highest one-day total reported during the pandemic.
In the past 26 days, the county has seen 103 new cases. It took the county 61 days to surpass the initial 100 cases.
Overall, the state reported 374 new COVID-19 cases and 21 additional virus-related deaths. The new cases bring the number of cases reported in the state during the pandemic, which began March 11, to 18,483 with 868 deaths.
In Warren County, the number of virus-related deaths remained at 12.
In Claiborne County, the number of cases moved to 131 with seven virus-related deaths, while all of the seven reported cases in Sharkey County are now presumed recovered.
Issaquena remains the only county in the state to not yet report a positive case.
