In reports submitted to the Mississippi State Department of Health on Monday, the Vicksburg Warren School District announced three employees tested positive for COVID-19, while one additional employee was reported quarantined.
Each of the positive cases and the quarantined case are connected to personnel at South Park Elementary School.
According to district officials, Monday’s report, which is the first thus far for the school year, did not show any positive results among students.
The district said staff and parents at the school were notified and additional disinfecting measures, including the use of the Clorox 360 system in offices, common spaces and classrooms, have been completed.
The Vicksburg Warren School District welcomed back students to either in-person or distance learning Aug. 17. State guidelines require school districts to submit reports of any positive cases among students and employees each Monday.
The Post has reached out to Vicksburg Catholic School for information. Porter’s Chapel Academy Head of School Chris Williams said Monday it has not yet reported a positive case.
