Another day and another felony charge for a Vicksburg man who now faces an armed robbery charge.

Friday, Vicksburg police officials announced Felix Williams, 30, faces two new felonies in connection to the Sept. 12 robbery of the BJ Junior convenience store on Clay Street.

These new charges are on top of the four felonies stemming from recent burglaries at Uptown Vicksburg, formerly known as the Vicksburg Mall.

During his initial court appearance Friday, Williams was formally charged with armed robbery and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon for the Sept. 12 incident. Judge Angela Carpenter set Williams’ bond at $80,000 and bound the case over to the grand jury.

The additional charges filed Friday will now be added to the list of charges from the earlier burglaries at Uptown Vicksburg, where Williams was taken into custody.

According to the Vicksburg Police Department, Williams was arrested after officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at the mall just after 4 a.m. Sunday. 

When officers arrived, they found an open door at the mall and observed Williams pushing a trash cart loaded with a large amount of clothing from Jordan’s totaling $25,967.83

Williams was charged with two counts of business burglary for breaking into Uptown Mall and Jordan’s on Sunday and two counts of business burglary and one count of grand larceny for a previous burglary at Sports Addition on Oct. 2.

As part of the investigation into Jordan’s burglary, investigators determined Williams had previously broken into Sports Addition where merchandise was stolen on Oct. 2. The estimated value of those items totaled $1,835.

During his court appearance Monday, Carpenter placed a $400,000 bond on Williams and bound the case over to the grand jury.
