Funeral services for Johnnie Lee Shelton will be Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, in the chapel of W.H. Jefferson with Rev. Pat Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, in the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. with social guidelines strictly observed. Facial coverings must be worn while inside.

Shelton passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at Merit Health Central Mississippi Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 69. He was employed by the City of Vicksburg Water and Gas Department and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Annie Mae Buck Shelton Sr.; his brother, Walter Shelton Jr; and his sisters, Florence Shelton, Georgia Shelton and Marie Shelton.

He is survived by his fiancé, Irene Harris of Vicksburg; his son, Roosevelt Harris of Vicksburg; his four daughters, Sabrina Harris, Elisha Harris Dillon, Minerva Harris and Bessie Harris all of Vicksburg; his brother, Bennie Shelton of Vicksburg; two sisters, Rachel Bell and Annie Woodland both of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
