After sweating out a win on Monday, St. Aloysius was cool as a cucumber on Tuesday.

Korey Sims dropped in 20 points, Anthony McCloud added 11, and St. Al’s boys’ basketball team rolled past Tallulah Academy 66-23 on Tuesday.

Carson Henderson had eight points for the Flashes (8-7), who won for the second night in a row — they beat East Rankin Academy 53-49 on Monday — and the fourth time in five games. Carson Gleese had six points to go along with five assists and three steals. Sadler Lambiotte also had seven assists and four steals.

St. Al climbed back above .500 heading into Friday’s MAIS District 4-5A opener against Adams County Christian School. The girls-boys doubleheader will start at 6 p.m. at St. Al.

In Tuesday’s junior high game, St. Al beat Tallulah 42-25. Dru Gleese led the Flashes with 11 points, John Hossley scored 10 and Walt Andrews nine.

Grant Gattle also had nine steals and six rebounds and Evan Mallard grabbed seven rebounds.

Clinton 67, Vicksburg 57
Willie Alexander scored 26 points, and Zakariyea Hamilton added 14 as Clinton (9-1) beat Vicksburg High on Tuesday.

Davian Williams led Vicksburg with a game-high 28 points. He made four 3-pointers and scored 20 points in the first half, but Clinton surged out to a 38-29 lead at halftime and maintained it through to the end.

Kameryn Bailey added 12 points for the Gators, Michael Johnson had eight, and Tyler Henderson six.

Vicksburg (10-3) lost for the second time in three games, after winning the previous nine in a row. It will play at Florence Friday at 6 p.m.

Warren Central 86, Jefferson County 60
Gaylon Turner finished with 35 points to lead Warren Central (6-6) to its fifth win in six games.

Robert Williams added 11 points and Jaylon Winters 10 for the Vikings, who will play at Port Gibson Friday at 6 p.m.

Girls
Clinton 66, Vicksburg 59
Taelar Felton dropped in 30 points — her second 30-point outing in three games — to lead Clinton’s girls’ basketball team past Vicksburg.

Caitlin White added 11 points for Clinton (9-2), which won its seventh game in a row. The Lady Arrows built a 15-point lead at halftime, 37-22, and kept the Missy Gators at arm’s length in the second half.

Vicksburg outscored Clinton 25-14 in the fourth quarter to make a run at a comeback, but couldn’t make up all of the ground it lost in the first three periods.

Kierra James scored 18 of her 24 points in the second half for the Missy Gators (2-10). Rodrianna Hall also had 15 points and Terri Boyd finished with 11.

Jefferson County 51, Warren Central 40
Shay Hodge led Warren Central with 13 points, Harmony Wright finished with 11, and Mariah Harrison scored seven, but Warren Central (0-12) remained winless on the season.

The teams will play again Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jefferson County.
