Carla Sullivan Sanders, Executive Director of the Medgar and Angela Scott Foundation spoke at the recent Vicksburg Kiwanis meeting.

Sanders explained that the Foundation is dedicated to inspiring people to excel.

Ways they help people excel are:

• They have a computer room available for their clients to use.
• The Foundation program teaches budgeting and general financial literacy.
• It also includes help with wills, estate planning, insurance and investing.
• The after-school program is geared to improving the education of those attending.
• They also provide career assistance, health services and support services.

The eight employees stay busy and enjoy providing much-needed services to the community.

The Vicksburg Kiwanis Club members found it inspiring to hear what this relatively new organization has done and is doing to improve the lives of residents of Vicksburg-Warren County.
