Kenneth Coleman

Kenneth Coleman, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Nelson (Jack) Coleman, Sr. and sister, Janet Lauern Knight.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 31 years, Gwen Knox-Coleman; children, Patrick Marsalis Coleman (Rachel), Vicksburg, Kensey Amanda Coleman, Tucson, AZ and stepson Reginald Terrell Knox, Ellenwood, GA. He was Paw-Paw to granddaughters Aliyah Olivia Coleman, Euless, TX and Kaycie A’Niyla Coleman, Vicksburg.

He is fondly remembered and survived by his mother, Norean Coleman, Rolling Fork; siblings: Jacqueline Coleman, Chicago, IL, Nelson Coleman, Jr. (Rose), Richmond, VA, Annie Carol Burkhead (Ricky), Oxford, Charles Napoleon Coleman, Rolling Fork, James Gregory Coleman (Michelle/deceased) Hindsville, GA, Stanley Coleman (Sherry), Rolling Fork, Darrin LaMonte Coleman, Jackson and Eric Marcel Coleman, Atlanta, GA.

He was baptized at an early age at Mt. Lula Baptist Church in Rolling Fork.

After graduating from Rolling Fork High School, he served in the United States Air Force as an Avionics Communications Specialist from 1976 to 1979.

For a number of years, Kenneth worked at Communications Specialists in Vicksburg before settling into his career in Information Technology for Warren County.

He retired as an IT Director for the Warren County Board of Supervisors.

He enjoyed video games such as Flight Simulator, old school music such as Funk and Jazz, good food and supporting the artistic endeavors of his granddaughters and children.

While he maintained a private demeanor, he never hesitated to assist those in need, often adding a touch of gentle sarcasm, which he playfully referred to as “being facetious.”
