Mildred Louise Thomas Harris, a Vicksburg resident, passed away Sat., Jan. 13, at her home surrounded by family. She was 85.

She was a retired practical nurse and member of St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church.

Graveside funeral services are to be held Sat., Jan. 20, in the Cedar Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Deacon Josie Williams officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Melinda Eatmon Thomas; brothers, Willie Dickey Thomas and Peter Alexander Washington; and sister, Rose Marie James.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Wilson Harris of Vicksburg; son, Jonas James Jr of Jackson; brothers, William Washington Jr of Yazoo City, and Michael James Washington of Vicksburg; sisters, Deacon Josie Williams and Linda Louise Washington, both of Vicksburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
