Officials with Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) have confirmed one person was injured Wednesday afternoon during a shooting that took place on Alcorn Drive.

According to VPD, one male victim was taken to Merit Health River Region Medical Center by private vehicle for treatment of a gunshot wound following the incident, which took place at 2:04 p.m. in the 100 block of Alcorn Drive.

VPD said the victim’s condition is not known at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
