We may need a miracle this election season

It’s been a while since I talked politics. But on Thursday, after I listened to the President of the United States give his State of the Union speech, I decided I would throw in my two cents.

First, I want to make it clear, I am not at all excited we will be having a rematch between two men that should be enjoying
retirement.

While they may not need to be put out to pasture, I just think it is time someone from a younger generation takes on the job of
president.

I also think the country needs a reset.

There has just been too much water under the bridge for either candidate to really be effective.

And by that, I mean, I don’t think either of the candidates’ respective parties will be receptive to working together. They haven’t in the past eight years, as each man served his four-year term. So, what would give us reason to think this next go-round will be
any different.

I’m guessing it will just be the same old same old. If the Republican candidate wins, the mainstream media will continue to act as if the devil himself has taken control of the world, while the conservative channels will critique every blunder or literal misstep if the Democratic candidate were to be re-elected.

And with all this gnashing of teeth, what are these men’s constituents left to do?

Goodness, we need a major October surprise!

But what on earth could ever change the (as another president would say) trajectory of this unfortunate situation?

It would have to be nothing less than a miracle. I believe in miracles. I just can’t fathom how the Lord is going to work out this
predicament.

Nonetheless we need him to step in.

And we need to do our part, too. By this I mean prayer. As in the case of miracles, there is always prayer that goes on behind the scenes.

Therefore, before it comes time to enclose yourself in a voting booth, say a little prayer.

A prayer that not just gives credence to the candidate of your choice, but prayers for leadership that will reignite and reunite these United States.

It’s time we come together for the good of all who live here and beyond.
