Madison Pant pitched and hit Warren Central’s softball team to two victories last weekend, then added another win in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

Pant received 385 of the 676 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers.

Vicksburg High softball player Trinity McGloster finished second, with 151 votes. St. Aloysius baseball player Keller Bradley was third, with 61 votes, and Tallulah Academy baseball player Gage Palmer came in fourth with 58.

Pant, a sophomore pitcher, led the Lady Vikes to two victories at the Brookhaven softball tournament on March 16. She allowed a total of one unearned run and had eight strikeouts in a total of seven innings in a 5-4 win vs. Loyd Star and a 5-0 win over West Marion.

Pant also went 3-for-3 with one RBI at the plate against West Marion.
