Baseball Roundup: Gators win third in a row; Tallulah Academy falls to Parklane

Braylon’s big bat brought Vicksburg High’s baseball team another win.
Braylon Green went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, four RBIs and three runs scored as Vicksburg beat Yazoo County in a high-scoring game, 15-10 on Thursday.
Green singled in two runs during a six-run rally in the first inning, then hit a two-run home run in the fourth to put the Gators ahead 11-8. He doubled and scored a run in the third inning.
Mincer Minor was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Gators (6-12), while Kealon Bass and Tyler Carter scored two runs apiece.
Mickell Jones also had an RBI single and pitched 3 2/3 innings. Jones allowed two unearned runs, no hits and four walks.
Vicksburg won its third game in a row and has scored in double figures in all three. It’ll go on the road Friday to play Columbus — a team it beat 15-0 on Wednesday — at 7 p.m.
Parklane 7, Tallulah Academy 3
Henry Brewer went 3-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored, and Parklane Academy used two big innings to beat Tallulah Academy (16-7) on Thursday.
Parklane scored three runs in the fourth inning and three more in the sixth.
Luke Moberley was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Tallulah, while Gage Palmer was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Tallulah will host Wilkinson County Christian Tuesday at 6 p.m. in an MAIS District 3-2A game.
