A Vicksburg location as old as the town itself became the newest member of the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce Thursday, when Karen Logfellow Stone and Lisa Longfellow cut the ribbon on the Martha Vick House.

Stone and Longfellow are the daughters of the late Bill Longfellow, who owned the home built for the daughter of Vicksburg’s founder, Newit Vick. The Martha Vick House holds the honor of being the last original Vick home in the city.

“Karen and I are very fortunate we inherited the Martha Vick house and everything in it from our father when he died in 2019,” Longfellow said.

Longfellow and her sister Karen have recently moved to the River City and said they are committed to having the home open for tours.

“We are trying to carry on his legacy by keeping the house open to the public. We are also available for private events,” Longfellow said.
