Porter’s Chapel Academy track athlete Marley Bufkin won three events — the long jump, and 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays — at the MAIS Class 3A South State meet on April 24 and 27,

Bufkin won the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 8 1/4 inches. She added second-place finishes in the 100 meters (13.64 seconds) and 200 meters (27.96 seconds).

She joined Audrey Carraway, Ansley Conway and Jae’la Smith on the 4×100 relay that won in 56.03 seconds; the 4×200 relay that won with a time of 1:57.82; and on the 4×400 relay that finished second in 4:43.98.

Bufkin and the other Lady Eagles will compete in the MAIS Class 3A state meet this weekend. Field events and the 3,200 meter run will be held Friday, May 3 at Canton Academy. The rest of the running events are Saturday, May 4 at Jackson Prep beginning at 9 a.m.
