J.W. Tucker, the former sheriff, suffered a paralytic stroke. • The Know Mississippi Better Train passed through Vicksburg on its way to California. • Senator J.H. Culkin returned from a trip to Canada.

James E. Holder, a well-known resident, died in New Orleans. • Mr. and Mrs. Billy Boult, of Mobile, were visiting residents in Warren County. • Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Sims and their children were vacationing in Alabama.
