Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cashman left for New York, where they would set sail for Europe. • Katie Voelinger died. • Julia Billitz was ill at the Infirmary.

Mrs. Earl Jaquith and her children returned to their home in Natchez. • Mrs. Emmitt Ward and her son left for a visit in Houston. • Luther Nelson, from Houston, was in Vicksburg visiting relatives.

L.E. Rollison passed away. • Alex Brunini was named a director of O’Neill-McNamara Hardware Company. • Mr. and Mrs. Keith Williams were visiting in New Orleans.

Vicksburg’s Melody Reed was a swimsuit winner at Miss Mississippi. • James Deason was promoted to Army Sgt. First Class in Germany. • Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Eatmon announced the arrival of their daughter, Candy. • Army ROTC Cadets Henry D. Melsheimer and John C. Franck received their parachutist badge after they completed a three-week airborne course at Fort Benning, Ga.
