Rosia Morris returned from the Far West. • A dance was given for Odile Ashford of New Orleans. • Emile Bonnelli Sr. was very ill in Detriot. • Frank Robinson and John Anderson returned from the Gulf Coast.
90 Years Ago: 1934
Samuel Chapman, a well-known Utica farmer, died. • Nellie Beer and her granddaughter left for Chicago. • Mr. and Mrs. Theo Huston returned home from their vacation due to the death of Mr. Huston’s mother.
80 Years Ago: 1944
Francis Mee arrived in Vicksburg to visit her parents. • William Briggs Hopson, of Delhi, was a patient of Mercy Hospital.
70 Years Ago: 1954
Katherine B. Dornbush died. • Services were held for Margaret Harris. • George Rogers Jr. addressed the local Knights of Columbus. • Leiland Duke Jr. visited family and friends in Columbus, Ga.
60 Years Ago: 1964
Services were held for Milton Reed, of Utica. • Henry C. Dixon died.
50 Years Ago: 1974
Dr. and Mrs. Charles Kolb returned from an extended visit out West. • Five area students were offered a full-ride scholarship from Mississippi Valley State University. • Judy Tullos was offered and took a position as a music specialist for the Stephen Foster Humanitarians Center in White Springs, Fla.

Gordon Martin died. • Warren County officials cracked a three-county burglary ring and arrested four area men. • Col. Tilford C. Creel, commander of WES, was honored with a retirement ceremony.

Vicksburg Police Sgt. Doug Arp began his seven-day stay in the fountain at Pemberton Square Mall to bring attention to National Night Out.
