Willie James Smith Sr., a former resident of Vicksburg, died Thursday, August 15, in Las Cruces, N. Mex. He was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, at Mt. Alban M.B. Church, 2385 Mt. Alban Road, under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home Friday, August 30. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cedar Cemetery.
