Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace has released the identities of both the victim and the suspected shooter in an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday on Warriors Trail.
Pace said the female victim has been identified as 45-year-old Crystal Dawn Sanderford, who lived at the home on Warriors Trail where the bodies were discovered. The suspected shooter has been identified as 53-year-old Johnny Dill Jr., of Warren County.
Pace said Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Warriors Trail Wednesday just after 1:30 p.m. and found Dill and Sanderford dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
“When deputies arrived on the scene, they found an adult male and an adult female near the back porch of the home. Both were obviously deceased,” Pace said. “The female had suffered from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The male had suffered what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head.”
Pace said the investigation is ongoing, but authorities are not expecting to identify additional suspects.
“We did recover a weapon. The two had been in an off-and-on relationship and, at this time, everything points to this being a murder-suicide,” he said. “There is no indication at this time that anyone else was involved or that it poses any danger to the community.”
