Voting is now open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are St. Aloysius volleyball player Lauren Flowers; and football players Luke Moberley (Tallulah Academy), Conley Johnston (Porter’s Chapel), and Aden Greer (Warren Central).

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Lauren Flowers, a sophomore with St. Aloysius’ volleyball team, had five kills, served five aces, and served on eight of 15 points in the final game of a 3-2 victory over Clinton Christian on Sept. 9. It was the first win in the history of St. Al’s volleyball program.

Luke Moberley, an eighth-grader with Tallulah Academy’s football team, threw two touchdown passes and ran for nearly 100 yards and another score in a 42-0 victory over Union Christian on Sept. 13. Moberley also had an interception and a fumble recovery on defense.

Aden Greer, a senior running back with Warren Central’s football team, ran for 101 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-23 victory against Germantown on Sept. 13. Greer scored on runs of 2, 2, and 3 yards as the Vikings surpassed the 50-point mark for the first time since 2016.

Conley Johnston, a senior linebacker with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football team, had seven tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack in a 44-6 loss to Humphreys Academy on Sept. 13.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then be featured in our Friday print edition.
