Two Warren County men were taken into custody by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office last week on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said WCSO deputy Joseph Stubbs initiated a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle traveling along U.S. Highway 80, east of Bovina, Sept. 13, just after 9 p.m.

Pace said a subsequent search of the vehicle recovered approximately 1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine. Arrested were the vehicle’s driver, 43-year-old Jesse Dustin Leist, and the passenger and owner of the vehicle, 62-year-old Brandon Dax Freeman. Both men were charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Pace said Freeman is being held on a $10,000 bond set by Warren County Justice Court Judge Randy Lewis. Lewis deferred bond on Leist, who, at the time of his arrest in Warren County, was free on bond following an arrest in Hinds County for an unrelated charge.
