Voting is open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are Warren Central volleyball player Kamryn Kelly; St. Aloysius swimmer Olivia Busby; and football players Chad Fuson (Porter’s Chapel) and Raphael Neal (Port Gibson).

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Kamryn “KK” Kelly, a junior with Warren Central’s volleyball team, totaled nine kills and 26 assists, and served 10 aces in wins over Columbus and Ridgeland. The Lady Vikes won both matches 3-0 to secure a home game in the first round of the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs.

Chad Fuson, a junior with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football team, rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown and caught a 49-yard touchdown pass in a 62-30 win over Tensas Academy on Sept. 27. He also had 14 tackles in a win against Park Place on Sept. 20.

Olivia Busby, a freshman with St. Aloysius’ swim team, finished third in the girls’ 50 yard freestyle at the MAIS Overall Swim Meet on Sept. 25. Busby had a time of 26.72 seconds. She also finished sixth in the 200 yard individual medley and competed in two relay events.

Raphael Neal, a junior quarterback with Port Gibson High School’s football team, accounted for five touchdowns — three passing and two rushing — in a 54-41 victory over Crystal Springs on Sept. 27. The Blue Waves improved their record to 3-2, bettering their win total from all of last season.
