Jase Jung, a senior with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football team, rushed for 284 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-20 win over Hillcrest Christian on Oct. 4. With his performance, Jung broke the Warren County records for single-season and career rushing yards that had stood since 1994.

Makynzie Dunmore, a senior volleyball player at Vicksburg High, had three kills, three assists and six digs in a 3-2 win over Callaway on Oct. 2 that clinched the Missy Gators’ berth in the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs. Dunmore totaled five kills, 10 assists and 14 digs in two matches last week.

Samantha Edwards, a senior cross country runner for St. Aloysius, clocked a time of 19:14 to win the PPCA Invitational Oct. 5 in Pearl. It was Edwards’ fourth consecutive race victory. St. Al also won the team title at the meet.

Jacob Byrd, a member of Warren Central’s swim team, won four events — the 200 and 500 yard freestyle, and the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay — at the MHSAA Class 2 North Half Championships on Oct. 5. WC also won the team title.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then be featured in our Friday print edition.

Good luck to all of the nominees!
