James Walter (JW) Hill Sr., of Monticello, Miss. and a native of Vicksburg, died Monday, Oct. 7, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the Ardis T. Williams Sr. Auditorium with the Rev. Larry D. Lenoir officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home Thursday, Oct. 10, from 1 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the auditorium Friday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
