By the Numbers: How many tourists visited Vicksburg in September?

At the Oct. 26, board meeting of the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau (VCVB), visitor reports for September 2024 were released and are as follows: 

  • 10 non-riverboat group tour buses.
  • 23 car tours, 57 passengers.
  • 10 regular bus/vans, 530 passengers.
  • 8 riverboat buses, 384 passengers.
  • 500 visitors assisted.
  • 2,958 visitors were welcomed at the Visitor Information Center.
  • The top state visiting was Mississippi, with 993 visitors. Louisiana was second with 119.
  • Total number of international visitors was 148.
  • Top country was United Kingdom, with 26 visitors. Germany was second with 24.
  • 901 visitors at Vicksburg Information Center.
  • 28,688 visitors at the Vicksburg National Military Park.
  • 1,557 visitors at the Lower Mississippi River Museum.
  • 350 visitors at the Southern Heritage Air Museum.
  • 500 visitors at the Old Court House Museum.
  • 392 visitors at the Catfish Row Museum.
  • 4,841 visitors at the Vicksburg Civil War Museum.
  • 434 visitors at the Old Depot Museum.
  • 1,430 visitors at the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum.
