Voting is open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.
This week’s nominees are cross country runners Samantha Edwards (St. Aloysius) and Cora Lindsay (Warren Central); and football players Jase Jung (Porter’s Chapel) and Decorey Knight Jr. (Vicksburg High).
Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Samantha Edwards, a senior cross country runner for St. Aloysius, clocked a time of 19:54 to finish second at the MAIS Class 5A Championship meet on Oct. 28. She finished first or second in all seven races she competed in this season.
Cora Lindsay, a freshman cross country runner for Warren Central, clocked a time of 23:09 to finish 12th overall at the MHSAA Class 6A Championship on Nov. 2.
Jase Jung, a senior with Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football team, rushed for 243 yards and three touchdowns; threw two TD passes; and had six tackles and two interceptions on defense in a 48-22 playoff victory over Park Place on Nov. 1.
Decorey Knight Jr., a senior running back with Vicksburg High’s football team, rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown, and caught a 47-yard TD pass in a 41-27 loss to Columbus on Nov. 1. Knight set the VHS school record for career rushing yards as well.
