During Monday’s meeting of the Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Vicksburg Fire Department Lt. Clarence Whitaker was honored for 30 years of service.

“I am proud to congratulate Lt. Clarence ‘Wesley’ Whitaker for his remarkable  30 years of service to the citizens of Vicksburg and Warren County,” Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said. “Throughout his tenure at the Vicksburg Fire Department, Lt. Whitaker has excelled in various roles, but his impact in recent years has been nothing short of extraordinary.”

Stamps said Whitaker’s role in the department requires that he address issues across a variety of areas, something Stamps said he does with fairness and discernment.
