Sandlot tryouts
The Sandlot of Vicksburg is holding open tryouts for its youth softball teams in the 8U, 10U and 12U age divisions.

YMCA basketball registration
Registration is open until Nov. 11 for the Vicksburg YMCA’s youth basketball league. The league is open to children ages 5-13, and the season starts Dec. 16. The registration fee is $65 for YMCA members and $85 for non-members.

Reindeer Run 5K
Registration is now open for the sixth annual Reindeer Run 5K. The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 8 a.m. at Catfish Row Art Park on Levee Street, and is a fundraiser for Paws Rescue.
Runners and walkers are invited to bring their pets along for the fun. Postrace events include a pet parade, reindeer games for the kids and adult beverages.
The registration fee is 435 for the 5K run and walk before Nov. 23, and $15 for the Reindeer Dash children’s 1-mile fun run. If you’d rather skip the run but get the T-shirt and support Paws Rescue, that option is available for $25.

Titans win again
Albert Dotson Jr. and Lekeveun Weathersby each scored a touchdown as the Port Gibson Titans youth football team’s B-Team of 9-10-year-olds beat the Shaw Panthers 14-0.
The Titans’ C-Team of 5-8-year-olds lost its game to the Panthers 21-0.
The Titans will travel to Magnolia to play in the Turkey Bowl tournament on Nov. 16. Games are at South Pike High School beginning at 9 a.m., and tickets are $7 per person,
