Warren Central’s Jamarian Shelly is the Athlete of the Week

Jamarian Shelly is the keeper of The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week award.

The Warren Central soccer goal keeper received 2,504 of the 4,378 votes cast in an online poll of The Post’s readers to earn the honor.

Warren Central football player Jaylon Winters finished second with 1,357 votes. Vicksburg High basketball player Cynia Johnson was third, with 541 votes, and St. Aloysius soccer player Dalton Windham fourth with 121.

Shelly, a senior, had more than 20 saves in four games as the Vikings went 3-0-1 on the week. He had 13 saves in a 1-1 tie with Germantown on Nov. 5.

Shelly also scored a goal in a 6-0 win over Hattiesburg on Nov. 9.
