A drive-by shooting case that is more than a year old is one step closer to being closed after Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) made an arrest this week in connection with the incident.

According to information from VPD, 21-year-old Kamryn Smith of Vicksburg was arrested Tuesday on warrants for one count of drive-by shooting and two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

All charges stem from an incident on Mission 66 in April 2023. Smith appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court Wednesday, where his bond was set at $400,00 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
