Vicksburg man charged felony malicious mischief

A Vicksburg man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly vandalized a gas station at the corner of Cherry and Clay streets.

Kahlid Sims, 29, of Vicksburg was arrested Friday, Nov. 8, after he was seen breaking out the windows at the service station known as the Smoke Break, 1217 Cherry St.

Sims appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court Tuesday on a charge of felony malicious mischief. His bond was set at $15,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

VPD said the incident does not appear to be related to the shooting that occurred Friday morning in the same location.
